Kwai Fung Hin Represents Chi Wing Lo

Kwai Fung Hin Art Gallery is pleased to represent artist Chi Wing Lo exclusively for his sculptures worldwide. Chi Wing Lo has recently held his solo exhibition Angels from Infinity – Sculptures by Chi Wing Lo as the inaugural exhibition of Kwai Fung Salone, a late establishment of Kwai Fung Hin launched in April 2022. Sculptures of the artist will be featured in the gallery's booth at the upcoming edition of Art Basel Hong Kong (March 2023).

 

About the Artist

 

Raised in Hong Kong, Lo received his master's degree in architecture from Harvard University with the best thesis prize in 1988. He later moved to Athens with his family and since resided there for more than twenty years. Lo has taught at the Syracuse University, NY, and was a member of the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. He joint Italian furniture brand Giorgetti in 1994, served as Art Director between 2004 - 2006, and later founded DIMENSIONE CHI WING LO in 2012. Lo has a multidisciplinary practice, integrating art, architecture, interior, furniture and object design for exclusive projects in Milan, Athens, London, Istanbul, Dubai, Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. His prolific output has long been recognised, both in and beyond the eminent circle of contemporary Italian design.

 

Artistic Style

 

Inspired by both oriental and Greek civilizations, Lo's evocativeness in thought, gracefulness in form, sensibility in art and boundless imagination are conveyed eloquently through his sculptures. Having practiced architecture for decades, Lo's understanding of forms and materials and his precision of lines and details contribute to the extraordinarily refined qualities in these works. His sculptures thus present a rare combination of artistic beauty, scientific observation, and mathematical precision, expressing spontaneously his experience and imagination. Through his mysterious yet intriguing works, Lo seeks to provide the audience with a spiritual experience of an alternative domain, dimension, and civilization, pursuing the ideals of timelessness and universality.
